Counted on one square meter (10.76 square feet) the TEJAtec roof tile weights 100 lbs. A comparable clay tile has a weight of 90 lbs.

The TEJAtec roof tile can be installed in two different ways. One installation is to cement the tiles on the roof. Our concrete roof tile rmains better on concrete than a clay tile does. As well, a clay tile requires more mortar for the installation due to their structure. The total weight will increase with the use of
significant more mortar for clay tiles than it does with our concrete roof tile.

TEJAtec roof tiles can be installed on wooden laths. The disuse of mortar in this installation system counts also for the benefits of the total weight.
