The behavior of rain water tested on TEJAtec roof stones and clay tiles is identical. It will go off without a hitch if the slope of the roof is more than 30 degree or 57%.With a lower inclinations the wind might blow the rain upwards. The water might penetrante the roof tiles from its lower end.

In general, we recommend to seal the roof construction with roffing felt or bitumen for a roof with low inclination. Experiments have shown that a clay roof tile in completely soaked with water within two hours if exposed to heavy water impact.

The concrete roof stone absorbs only some water within 24 hours. This implicates the clay tile to become leaky and pander the development of moss, which looks dirty whereas the TEJAtec roof tiles stays clean for a life time.
